Preparing for Your Probate Consultation

Thank you for scheduling a probate appointment with our firm. We look forward to meeting with you.

Your meeting is mostly an opportunity for your your attorney (Annie Arbenz, Hannah Roland, or Lindsay Appleton) to get to know you and the person who has died, what types of assets that person owned, who will be involved in the probate, and figure out how to get everything done as efficiently as possible. Our goal is for you to leave this meeting with a solid understanding of what the probate process is, what the executor's job entails for this estate, and how long you can expect the probate process to take.

To best prepare for your meeting, please have the following things handy:

  • Original estate planning documents for the person who has died (e.g., Will, Power of Attorney, Community Property Agreement, etc.)

  • A certified copy of Death Certificate

  • A completed probate questionnaire - template available below.

If you have any questions before your meeting, please feel free to contact our office.
